Bamboo Helix

The beaded segments framing the pendants were my first attempt at stitching beads ever (using the African helix stitch, which - as I realized halfway through the first failed attempt - is one of THE hardest to try for someone who's never attempted it before ).

Materials: matte gold bamboo design pendants, 11/0 sky blue AB and gold tone Czech glass seed beads, beading floss, 6 mm plastic pearls (to provide support for the helix segments), 8 mm etched round gold-plated spacer beads, 4 mm filigree round gold-plated spacer beads, 0.15 inch satin gold beading wire, gold-plated crimp beads, gold filled wire guardians, gold-plated chain, gold-plated headpins, 6 mm filigree round gold-plated spacer beads, gold-plated lobster clasp; ~10 hours, spring 2008
